Worthy Adversary is an art driven company, with artists from all over combining fashion, with an art based lifestyle. Music, surfing, skateboarding, fashion and the all around skull and bones lifestyle are a daily feeding for Worthy ADV. The art is influenced by romantic settings as well as a California and a New York urban movement. The artist’s have taken their work from the street to a raw canvas. This is truly walking art. Each design is its own, hand done, with a concept displaying sheer individuality. Tearing from the streets of Brooklyn New York all the way to the Coast Of California, we truly do live dreams. Were taking surfer driven lifestyle combined with some graffiti to our T's. Our designs are derived from art. We feel fortunate to have so many influences driving Worthy Adversary, while its skaters, musicians, artist and surfers hold an enormous feel to the work. Active in the art world, featuring our work everywhere we can we stay connected to a movement. A feeling, a moment, a way of life. This is our work.


Steal This Idea

Here’s the plan: for every 5000 people that buy our shirts online, we will donate 1% of our company to help the world. Eventually, we hope to have 500,000 people buy our shirts online and donate 100% of our company to charity. This is something unique that we have decided to do. This might seem insignificant, but on a collaborative basis, this could be huge. We hope to become the first garment company to work as a not for profit. Companies donate money all the time, but never on the percentage scale were talking about. This is a global effort to better ourselves. Something as little as buying a dope t-shirt could end up helping a family in Africa, whether you realize it or not. We will donate the money and post all of the receipts that we receive from our charities. As for the charities, we plan to donate our percentages to Habitat for Humanity’s International Organization, as well as WaterAid, a charity that establishes running water in third world countries. If you feel that there are other charities that need to be considered or have a specific request for your specific order, please let us know, and we will do our best to reach out them. This is our effort to reach out and touch something bigger than ourselves.


History

After realizing that money does not come easy being a college student, we recognized that we needed to get some capital because the Ramen noodles we were eating daily was beginning to hurt our stomachs. We then decided to knuckle down and create something original, new, and innovative. Something for the little people, you know, like you and me. We hustled the street like Bishop Don Magic Juan to scour up all the money we could find and came up with a name: Worthy Adversary. Why? Because it sounds cool and we like it, but that’s not the point.

We needed to make our vision real so it was off to the land of dreams, Los Angeles where we met up with Billy Kapler, garment extraordinaire. We went on trips to warehouses where we learned how the entire process worked; everything from screening graphics to embroidering letters, designs, and more. After our trip, we headed back to Park City, UT with our contacts in hand and hit the ground running to make our dream a reality.

Now, if you’re saying to yourself, “Dude, everyone has dreams and everyone has t-shirts, so what, why do I care?” we agree, but ask yourself does everyone have dreamy t-shirts? Philosophy is a key, and that is where the art comes in. This clothing line is different. It includes a combination of art and creativity that defines a new generation of style. Our product is not unique because we spent countless hours fretting over the specific details of naming the wear, deciding what colors to use, graphic placement, and other concerns, but because we created a product that we can look at and realistically say, “That’s cool.” But who are we say what is cool or what is not, we are just college students trying not pass out at our next stimulating lecture on (BORING SUBJECT HEADING HERE).


Progress

We have sold half of our inventory (225 shirts) within the first 4 months of being open. And that was just the basic designs. This is due to our support within the college audience, keep spreading the word. During the summer of ’08 we will be working on all new men’s and women’s t-shirt designs using American Apparel Blanks. These new art driven designs have taken our clothing company in a completely new direction. The Mixed Media theme has never been done on t-shirts before.

We feel that with all of the money we’re making, it’s time to give back. Not only thorough our work, but from our work. Our design team has come up with complex and interesting ideas that will provoke your inner desire for our clothing. After the release of our “Summer Addition” t-shirts, we will begin to work on sweatshirts and keep the ball rolling from there. Our feet are wet, and now it’s time to start swimming in the ocean. Everyone has a dream, and this clothing line is ours.

We were also able to get models to wear/photograph our clothing, thanks to a key part of our organization, Mitch Kapler.
